The Black Box Theory

One sees a fruit basket full of apples. After some napping, one sees that the very same fruit basket is now full of oranges. What will happen to the fruit basket if one takes another nap?
In science, a „black box“ is a device or system that should be understood only by its inputs and outputs. Its inner workings are irrelevant.

Given the fact that anything – from one’s very own brain to a box of oranges – might be referred to as a black box, what can be expected from such a theory? One may observe that the most likely outcome is the apodictic possibility that there is no such thing as The Black Box Theory.

After all, orange is the new black, regardless of the estuarine population of the brown shrimp Crangon crangon in the Westerschelde.
